F&L Week 2024

SAN RAMON, Calif., February 27, 2024 – Chevron Oronite is proud to be a gold sponsor and present at the F&L Week: Conference & Exhibition, which will be held March 7-8 at the InterContinental Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The theme of this year’s conference is “Towards Carbon Neutrality: Future Opportunities in Fuels and Lubricants” and attendees are welcome to learn more about Chevron Oronite’s additive solutions at Table #06 in the InterContinental Grand Ballroom.

Emmanuelle Faure-Birchem, global product line manager – AEO/VM/SE, Chevron Oronite, will present “Lower Carbon Automotive Lubricant Additive Solutions” on Thursday, March 07 at 2:10pm. Faure-Birchem will share how Chevron Oronite is investing in lower carbon solutions for heavy-duty and passenger car product lines, with a focus on lubricant additives solutions for key propulsion technologies and fuels, such as hybrid vehicles, hydrogen internal combustion engine (H2 ICE) applications, re-refined base oil (RRBO) and bio-diesel.

Rajagopalan Padmanabhan, AP regional product line manager - AEO/VM/SE, Chevron Oronite will present “RRBO Trends and Solutions for Automotive Lubricant Additive Formulations” on Friday, March 08 at 4:10pm.  With RRBO gaining traction as a lower carbon alternative to conventional base oils, there is increased interest and adoption to use RRBO in additives/lubricants. Padmanabhan will share the trends of RRBO, its usage in automotive engine oils and the lubricant additive solutions with the latest test data that Chevron Oronite has developed for RRBO usage in both heavy-duty and passenger car motor oils.

Chevron Oronite will showcase a poster titled “Power Transmission Fluids Meeting Environmental Regulations with Improved Performance,” presented by Sally Chiew, AP regional product line manager – Industrial, Driveline & Fuels, during the cocktail poster session on Thursday, March 07 at 5:25pm. This poster aims to showcase Chevron Oronite’s solution to meet the challenging requirements of Caterpillar TO-4 and other specifications with improved performance.

Additionally, Chevron Oronite is delighted to receive the prestigious “F&L Asia Product Development of the Year Award” for OLOA® 59361, an innovative API CK-4/FA-4 heavy-duty lubricant additive package designed to serve a broad range of engines, including heavy-duty on-highway, off-highway, and light-duty engines operating on low/ultra-low sulfur diesel (LSD/ULSD) fuels. This product stands out for its ability to help ensure smooth engine operation and enhanced engine durability at an extremely optimized additive package treat rate, covering three viscosity grades—SAE 10W-30, 10W-40, and 15W-40—at the same treat rate. This versatility is coupled with fuel economy benefits and the ability for extended oil drain intervals underpinning the product's contribution to operational efficiency. A notable achievement of OLOA 59361 is its global applicability, having met stringent heavy-duty lubricant specifications across various regions including Europe (ACEA E9/E11 - 2022), North America (API CK-4 and FA-4), Japan (JASO DH-2), China (D1), and OEM specifications such as the Cummins CES 20100 along with lower carbon solutions from RRBO and bio-diesel usage.
