Chevron Oronite to Sponsor and Present at UNITI Mineral Oil Technology Congress 2022

SAN RAMON, Calif., August 16, 2022 – Chevron Oronite announced that it will be sponsoring and presenting at the UNITI Mineral Oil Technology Congress to be held August 30-31, 2022 in Stuttgart, Germany. On August 31 at 9:10 am, Anand Bhargav, global segment manager, Main Tier PCMO and Small Engines, Chevron Oronite based in Singapore, will be making a presentation titled, Flexible Solutions for Hybrid Vehicle: Unlocking the Opportunity.

As regulations governing internal combustion engines (ICEs) become increasingly stringent, automotive OEMs are introducing a range of powertrains that include Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) and, more popularly, the Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) as part of their plan to transition to BEVs over the next 20 to 30 years. Given the advancements in lubrication technology in recent years toward lower viscosities and synthetics, a common belief is that modern lubricants engineered for the latest generation of ICEs are also suitable for these hybrids. As a result, specifications for hybrid vehicle engine oils specifically have not been introduced.Anand Bhargav will explain that Oronite research suggests that hybrids can benefit from specialized and differentiated lubrication solutions designed to perform in their operating environment. On the same day, at 14:35 pm, Chevron Oronite will be sponsoring a networking event in the ICS foyer. The UNITI Mineral Oil Technology Congress draws on specialists from the lube and fuel sector, as well as experts in mechanical engineering and the automotive industry, who will discuss recent industry trends and developments in lubricants and fuels. The interaction between representatives of the additives industry and the automobile industry will be particularly valuable.
