Chevron Oronite unveils PC-12 additive solutions with more than 20 licensable industry claims and OEM approvals
SAN RAMON, Calif., July 16, 2026 – Chevron Oronite, a global leader in lubricant additives, today announced its PC-12 additive technology solutions designed to help lubricant marketers meet the next generation ofheavy-duty engine oil specifications.
With first licensing targeted for January 1, 2027, the PC-12 category represents a significant advancement in engine oil performance — addressing evolving industry needs for improved fuel efficiency, extended oil life, and enhanced protection for modern engine hardware and aftertreatment systems.
Chevron Oronite’s PC-12 solutions are designed as a single platform with multiple possibilities – giving customers the flexibility to formulate across a wide range of applications with confidence. It includes two primary additive technologies with new dispersant chemistry— OLOA® 59382 (PPD-embedded) and OLOA® 59380 (non-PPD).

1. Wider application coverage – supporting multi-fleet applications with broad base oil compatibility and multiple viscosity grades
2. Broad backward compatibility – enabling use across API CK-4 (low phosphorus) from API CL-4, and linkage to API CK-4 (high phosphorus) applications
