International Lubricants Standardization and Approval Committee (ILSAC) has announced a new GF-7 engine oil category which will help deliver improved fuel economy as well as benefits for OEMs and consumers, like better protection against low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI), piston deposits and timing chain wear. The effective first license date is March 31, 2025.
