products features & benefits

Our products are recommended for most Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) J300 viscosity grades and are designed to meet a broad range of industry and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) performance specifications at economical treat rates. In addition, PARATONE products provide improved formulating flexibility, thus reducing the need for costly specialized base stocks in many applications.

PARATONE viscosity modifiers combine excellent viscometric effectiveness with high oxidative stability. Our products provide the performance attributes and flexibility needed to formulate oils to today's high-quality standards and stringent industry performance requirements.

All PARATONE viscosity modifiers are available in pre-dissolved liquid concentrate form, or in solid polymer form for customers who prefer to self-dissolve.

Specifically, the PARATONE family of viscosity modifiers — a recognized industry leader for nearly 80 years — provides the following features and benefits:

Features Benefits
High-thickening efficiency Lower treat rate, cost and deposit contribution
Low Cold Crank Simulator (CCS) and cold temperature viscosity Base oil flexibility, low volatility and finished oil cost
Good high-temperature and high-shear (HTHS) viscosity Flexibility to meet industry HTHS specifications
Wide range of shear stabilities Customer flexibility and cost-effectiveness
Available as direct dissolvable and concentrates Customer flexibility and reduced costs
Better oxidative stability than non-Olefin Copolymer (OCP) chemistry Better resistance to oxidation and greater flexibility in additive formulation
